FFCNSchools Federation Equality Objectives 2024-25

Foundations for Children Nursery Schools Federation are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all children, staff, parents and carers, inclusive of the ‘Protected Characteristics’. In order to further support children, raise standards and ensure inclusive teaching, we have set the following objectives:

 

1) To promote spiritual, moral, social and cultural (SMSC) development through appropriate curriculum opportunities.

 

Success criteria

Children engage in a wide range of rich curriculum experiences and knowledge that broadens their knowledge and understanding of diversity, tolerance, respect and the wider world.

  • Children are kind and considerate, displaying an understanding and respect for themselves and others.
  • Educators willingness to learn from children, families and the wider community about different cultures and religions

2) Advance Equality of Opportunity Between People.

Robust systems for monitoring progress in place and monitored regularly.

 

Success Criteria

  • Spotlight/focus child weeks each term (ITMP) ensures that all children are supported to meet learning milestones.
  • Groups and individuals at risk of underachievement are swiftly identified and interventions planned.

3) Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation

The child’s voice is developed within the delivery of the Early Years curriculum.

Review how we consult with children in relation to children having a greater influence in determining their learning journeys.

 

Success Criteria

  • Every child has an individualised focus week and monitored through our observation of play and learning system (ITMP)
  • Reflective practices maximise the potential for staff to observe and listen to children.
  • Parent consultations are used to share their views and agree next steps- child's voice to be gathered to influence the curriculum developments
